Seth M McConchie

Bio

Seth McConchie is a senior staff researcher in the Advanced Radiation Detection, Imaging, Data Science, and Applications group of the Physics Division. He is currently the ORNL point-of-contact for the Warhead Verification Program within the NNSA Office of Nuclear Verification. His current research interests involve developing technologies for the nuclear arms control and participating in exercises that deploy and test systems of verification technologies. He has a technical background in radiation detection with an emphasis on active interrogation. He joined ORNL as a staff member in 2008 after completing a one-year postdoctoral assignment. He has a doctoral degree in applied nuclear physics from Purdue University and a bachelor's degree in physics from Butler University.
