Bio

Mr. Ron Cain has worked at the United States Department of Energy (DOE) facilities in Oak Ridge, Tennessee for over 38 years. As an undergraduate, he studied mathematics, computer science, and physics, and has a Masters’ in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee. Mr. Cain is presently serving as Senior Staff Member to the International Safeguards Group in the Nuclear Security & Isotope Technology Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In this role, he is Project Manager in development of several nonproliferation information systems, supports the DOE International Nuclear Safeguards and Engagement Program in the area of information management, oversees the DOE Additional Protocol Reporting System, and was the DOE Principal Investigator for development of the IAEA’s Protocol Reporter, version 3. Mr. Cain’s professional certifications include the Institute of Certified Professional Manager’s Certified Manager, the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional, Microsoft’s Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, and the Knowledge Management Institute’s Certified Knowledge Manager.
