Group Leader, ARM Data Science & Integration Group
Ranjeet Devarakonda is a senior research staff member in the Environmental Sciences Division. He is currently serving as a Group Leader for the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Data Science & Integration Group and as a principal investigator for the US Geological Survey informatics project, providing vision, strategy, leadership, and end-to-end design and execution of earth system data operations, including data discovery, advanced data analysis, science data product delivery, and user interactions. He is also the data management lead for the Mercury Science Focus Area and the Next-Generation ecosystem experiments (NGEE Arctic). Ranjeet served as the software architect for the Mercury: Distributed data/metadata management, data discovery and access system from 2007 until 2015, which managed data/metadata for more than 15 federally funded projects, including NASA, DOE, and NSF. He has spent the last 14 years at ORNL developing, designing, and leading several informatics tools to serve the scientific community.
