Murray Purves is a Software Developer for Nuclear Security Applications in the Nuclear Security Modeling group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Murray’s primary interest is in the application of cutting-edge scientific models to real-world problems, and their integration into effective operational tools. He is also highly experienced in the use of dispersion modeling tools and techniques across a variety of operational and analytical applications, and the use of GIS to effectively display and analyze their output.
Prior to working at ORNL, Murray worked within the UK defense industry for over five years. He holds a BSc degree in Physics (first class) from the University of Manchester.
Awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions made in the transfer of the Inverse Depletion Theory Software for Environmental Sampling Analysis to the International Atomic Energy Agency.
