Julie E Chaves
Julie Chaves is a postdoctoral researcher in the Biosciences Division at ORNL. Julie was awarded her B.A. with honors in Integrative Biology from the University of California Berkeley in 2012. She continued at the University of California Berkeley as an NSF SAGE IGERT fellow in the graduate program of Comparative Biochemistry. She received her Ph.D in 2017, upon completing her graduate work with Anastasios Melis, engineering cyanobacteria to produce isoprene. Julie is currently working with Josh Michener on engineering Pseudomonas species for the production of fuels and chemicals from lignocellulose.
