Heidi S Schindel

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Heidi received her PhD in Biochemistry from Carl Bauer's lab at Indiana University in September of 2017, where her work focused on a novel bacterial microcompartment pathway in Rhodobacter capsulatus.  Since then, she has worked with Dr. Adam Guss in the Microbial Ecology and Physiology group at ORNL doing metabolic engineering to develop genetic tools and produce biofuels in a variety of non-model organisms such as Clostridium thermocellum, C. ljungdahliiNovosphingobium aromiticivorans, and Geobacillus thermoglucosidasius
