Bio
Eden Camp is a Radiochemist with the Radioactive Materials Analytical Laboratory (RMAL) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, joining the organization in November 2025. With over a decade of experience in radiochemical analysis, laboratory leadership, and applications support, Eden brings a deep technical foundation and a proven record of advancing analytical capabilities in the radiological sciences.
Before joining ORNL, Eden served as an Applications Specialist for three years, supporting complex radiological workflows and providing technical expertise across a range of analytical platforms. Prior to that role, Eden worked as a Detector Service Technician, repairing and replacing components on high purity germanium (HPGe) detectors and performing proficiency testing to ensure system accuracy and reliability. Earlier in their career, Eden served as a Radiochemist for six years before stepping into a Radiochemistry Group Leader position, where they developed strong proficiency in method development, sample preparation, and data interpretation across diverse radiochemical matrices.
With an academic background rooted in Analytical Chemistry, Eden has long been driven by precision, problem‑solving, and scientific rigor. Their undergraduate research culminated in a publication exploring the integration of forensic science with laser ablation techniques, reflecting an early commitment to interdisciplinary innovation.
At ORNL, Eden contributes to RMAL’s mission by applying their extensive analytical expertise, operational experience, and radiochemical insight to support national priorities in nuclear science, security, and materials characterization.
