Bio

Denise Lee holds an R&D Staff position in the Nuclear Security and Isotopes Technology Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Denise graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in December 2008 with B.S. and M.S. degrees in nuclear engineering. She earned a PhD in nuclear engineering from the University of Tennessee in December 2013. Denise has approximately eight years of experience in radiochemical equipment and process research and development. Denise’s research involves projects related to environmental management, national security, nuclear safeguards, and various aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle. She has been involved in many diverse research projects ranging from the evaluation of the chemical stability of organic solvents to verification of uranium purification processing conditions to analyzing nuclear fuel cycle activities for nuclear security concerns.
