David W Eberius

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Dr. David Eberius is a postdoc in the Algorithms and Performance Analysis Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).  He works on application readiness for the upcoming Frontier supercomputer at ORNL.  He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2020 under the advisement of Dr. Jack Dongarra and the direction of Dr. George Bosilca.  His area of study during his Ph.D. studies was performance analysis tools for High-Performance Computing software, and his dissertation was entitled: Providing Insight into the Performance of Distributed Applications Through Low-Level Metrics.  His current research interests include performance analysis techniques and tools, distributed computing, and accelerator-based computing.  In his personal life, he pursues many hobbies such as video games, reading, movies, sports, and whistling.  He even competes in international musical whistling competitions, with his best placement being second place in Stage 2 of the Masters of Musical Whistling competition in 2019.
