Daniel T. Yimam is a postdoctoral research associate in the Functional Hybrid Nanomaterials Group at the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Before joining ORNL, Daniel conducted research at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials (ZIAM), where he earned his PhD in Applied Physics/Materials Science. His PhD research focused on the growth and characterization of phase-change alloys for computing and nanophotonics applications. Currently, his research interests lie in understanding and controlling the synthesis of nanomaterials using advanced PLD tools with in situ diagnostics capabilities and characterization.
