Bio

Before joining ORNL in January 2010, Dr. Hadjerioua had 19 years of experience balancing the many stakeholder demands for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) integrated river system. Currently, Dr. Hadjerioua lead ORNL team  dealing with energy–water power, water resource, and integrated river systems analyses. He collaborates with highly qualified teams of scientists and recognized national and international industry and academic experts addressing small-scale to national-scale water resources engineering projects for the Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of State, and the State of Alaska. His specific focus is assessing innovative processes, developing decision-support tools and analysis methods to enable holistic management of water-dependent energy infrastructure and natural resources, and developing new technologies to support DOE in meeting the nation’s renewable energy goals. Dr. Hadjerioua contributes as an international lead expert and promotes ORNL’s international reputation as a center for science with European, North and South American, and Southeast Asian countries. Dr. Hadjerioua has 144 technical publications (September 2018).

Current Activities

Current responsibilities include leading the technology team for hydropower projects at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) for the Department of Energy (DOE). Specific responsibilities focus on developing technologies, decision-support tools, and methods of analysis that enable holistic management of water-dependent energy infrastructure and natural resources, in support of DOE-EERE and other goverment agencies.
