Azhad U Chowdhury

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Azhad U. Chowdhury received his Ph.D. in December 2016 from Purdue University, Indiana where he worked under the supervision of Prof. Garth J. Simpson studying nucleation and polymorphism of active pharmaceuticals ingredients (APIs) using second harmonic generation (SHG) imaging, vibrational spectroscopy and synchrotron X-ray microdiffraction. After his PhD he joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) as a postdoctoral research associate in April 2017. Since then he has been working with Dr. Ben Doughty studying various interfaces to understand the interfacial behavior in mass and energy transportation between two neighboring bulk phases with vibrational sum frequency generation (vSFG) spectroscopy. His current research focuses on formation and growth of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on electrode surface using vSFG.
