High Relative Humidity Facilitates Carbonation of Magnesium Oxide

Published:

Scientific Achievement: Carbonation of MgO only proceeds in presence of humidity with higher relative humidity increasing reaction layer thickness.

Significance and Impact: Results show that efficiency of direct air capture of CO2 using mineral looping can be enhanced by siting facilities in locales where ambient humidity is already high.
