Linked-View Parallel Coordinate Plot Renderer

UT-Battelle, LLC, acting under its Prime Contract No. DE-AC05-00OR22725 with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for the management and operation of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), is seeking commercialization partners for its Linked-View Parallel Coordinate Plot Renderer.

There is often a need to visualize and interact with multidimensional data for hypothesis testing and knowledge discovery. This need can become complicated for large-scale displays or challenging for real-time interactivity on a desktop computer when thousands to millions of simulations need to be displayed.

Researchers at ORNL have developed software that allows multiple linked views for interactive querying via map-based data selection, bar chart analytic overlays, and high dynamic range (HDR) line renderings. The major component of the visualization package is a parallel coordinate renderer with binning, curved layouts, shader-based rendering, and other techniques to allow interactive visualization of multidimensional data.

License applications will be evaluated based on prospective partners' ability and commitment to successfully commercialize the technology, with a preference for United States based businesses and small businesses.
