The 2025 Innovation Report, an annual report that recognizes the efforts of the Partnerships Office to transfer the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory expertise and technology to the marketplace, is available for download. The report details the work of the Technology Transfer Office, Strategic Partnerships Group, Innovation Crossroads, Economic Development, and Research Security teams. It also celebrates the nearly 300 inventions disclosed, more than 200 elected to patent, 27 licensed technologies, and 73 patents granted. These efforts garnered 20 R&D 100 Awards, extending ORNL’s record as the all-time leader, and a lab-leading six Federal Laboratory Consortium Awards, including recognition for the Bull Run fusion partnership with TVA and Type One Energy.

“The report quantifies and elaborates on the remarkable and transformative year we’ve had,” said Shaun Gleason, director of the Partnerships Office, “and the support Partnerships has provided to our amazing inventors and innovators.”
