Rigoberto “Gobet” Advincula, a scientist with joint appointments at ORNL and the University of Tennessee, has been named a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.

Moriano awarded early career fellowship for underrepresented groups

Pablo Moriano, a research scientist in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division at ORNL, was selected as a member of the 2024 Class of MGB-SIAM Early Career Fellows.

Electric vehicles can drive longer distances if their lithium-ion batteries deliver more energy in a lighter package. A prime weight-loss candidate is the current collector, a component that often adds 10% to the weight of a battery cell without contributing energy.
