Zarkadoula named guest editor at JOM

Topic:

Eva Zarkadoula, an R&D staff member at ORNL's Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences, has been named guest editor in a special issue on "Interface Engineering and Property Functionalization" for JOM, the journal of the TMS (Minerals, Metals and Materials) Society, published by Springer. Zarkadoula is also serving another two-year term as JOM Advisor.

JOM is a technical, peer-reviewed journal devoted to exploring the many aspects of materials science and engineering within the broad topical areas of light metals, structural materials, functional materials, extraction and processing, and materials processing and manufacturing.

Zarkadoula joined ORNL as a postdoctoral research associate in 2014 after receiving her doctorate in physics from Queen Mary University of London. Her research in CNMS’s Nanomaterials Theory Institute focuses on understanding responses of materials in extreme conditions including their interactions with radiation, microstructural evolution and mechanical behavior. – Lawrence Bernard
