2017 Joint Nanoscience and Neutron Scattering User Meeting

ORNLThe Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences (CNMS) and the CNMS User Executive Committee are pleased to announce Registration is OPEN! for the 2017 Joint Nanoscience and Neutron Scattering User Meeting to be held during the week of July 31 – August 4, 2017 at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). This meeting will highlight research achievements by users and staff of CNMS and of ORNL’s neutron scattering user facilities, as well as the broader nanoscience and neutron-scattering research communities, and provide opportunities to meet with facility staff and other researchers to discuss and plan for submitting user proposals and other collaborative activities.

The main User Meeting on Aug. 1-2 will feature:

  • Six plenary addresses
  • Six parallel tracks of oral presentations, including 16 Invited Speakers
    • With CNMS-focused tracks on Interface Directed Assembly, Directed Nanoscale Transformations, Electromechanical Phenomena, and Heterogeneities in Low-Dimensional Materials
  • With CNMS-focused tracks on Interface Directed Assembly, Directed Nanoscale Transformations, Electromechanical Phenomena, and Heterogeneities in Low-Dimensional Materials
  • Poster Session with Best Student Poster Competition
  • Additional contributed talks and posters selected from submitted abstracts
  • Facility tours
  • Opportunities for user proposal planning with CNMS and neutron-scattering facility staff
  • User group Town Hall meetings

A “baker’s dozen” related Workshops and Tutorials will also be held on July 31 and on Aug. 3-4.
