ORNL’s Dewji receives Elda E. Anderson Award from the Health Physics Society

Shaheen Dewji, a radiological scientist at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has received the Elda E. Anderson Award from the Health Physics Society (HPS).

The award recognizes Dewji’s excellence in research, devotion to health physics, and her significant contributions to the profession. Dewji, a researcher in the Center for Radiation Protection Knowledge in ORNL’s Environmental Sciences Division, advances the study of how radiation affects human health. She and her colleagues conduct research that informs guidelines for worker exposure to radiation, dosing for medical patients, and other applications spanning the nuclear fuel cycle, nuclear medicine, emergency response, national defense, and space exploration.
