Galigekere, Tarditi elevated to IEEE senior members

Veda Galigekere and Alfonso Tarditi of the Electrical and Electronics Systems Research Division have been elevated to senior members of IEEE. Senior member is the highest professional grade of the IEEE for which a member may apply. Only 10 percent of the more than 400,000 IEEE members have achieved this level.

Galigekere’s recent work has focused on the development of technology to wirelessly transfer large amounts of electricity, advancing research for extreme fast charging of electric vehicles. He is a member of the Power Electronics and Electric Machinery Group. Tarditi's work advances power grid resilience, focusing on the study of electromagnetic pulses and their potential impact on the electrical grid. He is a member of the Power and Energy Systems Group.
