Research Interests

I am doing research in the field of theoretical condensed matter physics.

The primary focus of my research lies in the fundamental understanding of growth mechanisms, novel properties, functionalization, and potential technological applications of surface-based and carbon based nanostructures. Especially, I am interested in utilizing these materials as energy storage media with a high and efficient retrievability by making use of their unique nanoscale properties.

My theoretical approach ranges from first-principle calculations within density functional theory to molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations, continuum elasticity theory, and microscopic and phenomenological modeling.
