OVERVIEW
This site contains a wide range of climate information for the Oak Ridge Reservation (ORR), much of which is not available anywhere else. The types of climate data provided are briefly described below. Each may be accessed by clicking on the appropriate rain drop.
Recent Weather -
Provides near real-time weather information including ORNL, ETTP, and Y12 tower
data, Y12 East sodar, tower status reports, CAPARS wind fields, current
satellite and radar (courtesy of the NWS), and recent hourly and daily
precipitation reports.
Tables/Graphs - Tabular and graphical information is provided. The section provides a wind rose archive, precipitation graphics, and Oak Ridge climate summaries (for the KOQT ASOS site).
Historical (ASCII) - An ASCII-formatted archive of all available 1-minute, 15-minute, and 60-minute data from ORR meteorological sites. Additionally, the section contains ISC-ST3 and STR-formatted meteorological files for use in environmental compliance modeling.
ASOS - This section contains raw ASCII-data from the Oak Ridge Automatic Surface Observing System (ASOS) site operated by the National Weather Service (NWS). Additionally, links are provided to current data from Oak Ridge (KOQT), Crossville (KCSV), Knoxville (KTYS), and Chattanooga (KCHA) ASOS sites. The Oak Ridge ASOS (KOQT) is now the official Oak Ridge weather data site for climate record keeping (used by the National Climate Data Center).

conditions in Oak Ridge. PDF-formatted files of regional climate factors
(temperatures, precipitation, thunder, tornadoes, fog, and freezing dates) are
also provided.
