Dr. Femi Omitaomu is a Research Scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and an Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering at the University of Tennessee. Between 1995 and 2001, he was a project engineer with Mobil Producing Nigeria. He was a post-doctoral research fellow at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada between February and October 2006.

He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in May 2006, his M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1999, and his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lagos State University, Nigeria in 1995.
