Comments

C1 Australia

Australia considers Annex K to be useful for the development and to show the principles of the standard. Australia therefore considers that Annex K should be identified as "informative", Australia would have no objection if Annex K was omitted fromt he TC.

C2 Japan

Editorial Comments appended to the Approval Vote for SC18 N5431 (JTC1 N4178) DATE: Oct. 1, 1996

(1) Annex K The annex K should be informative.

C3 UK

The UK approves the Technical Corrigendum with the following comment:

The UK considers that the proposed addition of Annex K is unnecessary. The SGML Development principles are intended for use as internal guidelines within the expert group and are not suitable for publication within an international standard.

C4 USA

The U.S. NB votes YES with the following comments: 1. In the proposed Annex J, change the subheading "Extended Naming Rules" to a paragraph: "The extending naming rules are as follows" 2. In the proposed Annex J, production 189.2, in order to conform to the requirements of clause 5.1 of the standard, a minus delimiter must be used rather than a literal hyphen. 3. While not disagreeing with the principles espoused in the proposed Annex K, the U.S. National Body believes it is not appropriate for this technical corrigendum, and we therefore request strongly that it be removed.

C5 Sweden

Sweden disapproves. The proposed changes are far beyond what would be considered as corrigenda. These changes shall be an amendment to the standard. We are supportive of the proposed changes, but the JTC 1 procedures have to be obeyed.
