Railroad Routing and Visualization Application (RRVA)June 12, 2013
- To allow the Office of Safety of the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to assess rail transport flows and identify locations of grade crossings, accident locations, and track defect locations along rail lines.
- The Railroad Routing and Visualization Application (RRVA) model utilizes the best available rail network, commodity flow data, along with data from FRA to analyze the rail transportation system.
- RRVA generates a route between an origin and destination, providing a comprehensive description and point data (grade crossings, accident locations, and track defects) along the route. Traffic flow along routes can be accumulated and mapped for analysis.
