Initiative Progress and Future Plans

Introduction

A number of activities have been conducted as part of the initiative to bring together the fields of mutation research and genomics. Researchers in both areas have been interviewed to discover their mutal goals and interests. Meetings have been held to chart a course of action and more are planned for 1997-98. The International Comission for the Protection against Mutagens and Carcinogens (ICPEMC) and the Environmental Mutagen Society (EMS) have become involved in efforts related to the MRG Initative. The Initiative was described at the 26th Annual EMS meeting. These activities are described in the following:
