SCALE 4.4a Update for All Versions of Windows         Feb. 22, 2001

This update provides updated files for SCALE 4.4a to execute on Windows XP and
Millennium Edition (ME). The updated files will be automatically installed
to the folder "\SCALE4.4a" on the drive specified by the user (the default is C:).
DO NOT specify the full path for the installation. ONLY SPECIFY THE
DRIVE (e.g., D:\ ).

This update also contains updated BAT files for running SCALE
on Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000. The files have been updated to copy
the color GIF files generated by PICTURE and the ORIGEN-S plot files
generated by OPUS back to the user's directory along with the output file.
The files for Windows 95/98/ME can now handle folder names
with embedded blanks. (This problem did not exist for NT/2000.)

IMPORTANT:
If you have SCALE 4.4a installed on a drive other than C:, some of
the updated files must be edited by hand. After installation of the
update, use a text editor to change all occurrences of "C:" to the drive
where SCALE 4.4a is installed in the following files.

The installation file was updated on March 27, 2001, to correct the
spelling of "Millennium" in the \scale4.4a\cmds\scale44.bat file, so
that it would detect the the Windows ME operating system.

The installation file was updated again on July 16, 2001, to update
the version of OPUS to match the ORIGEN-ARP RSICC package CCC-702.

The installation file was updated again on August 7, 2001, to update
the version of OPUS (corrected an error that failed to print the "m"
for metastable nuclides with atomic weights less than 100, e.g., "Kr-85m")
and to add OPUS to the QATABLE files.

The installation file was updated again on December 13, 2001, to add
BAT files to execute SCALE on Windows XP.

The installation file was updated again on March 6, 2002, to remove
OPUS. The latest version of OPUS is available in a separate installation
file.
