A typical wall system is made up of a clear wall, corners, window and door apertures, and wall intersections with the foundation, ceiling, and interior walls and floors.  The research on advanced wall systems seeks to develop ways to more effectively determine the energy efficiency of a whole wall.  Issues such as air tightness, thermal mass, durability and sustainability must be considered.
