Solid Oxide Fuel Cells and Solid Oxide Electrolyzers:

Tubular metallic supported solid oxide fuel cell design has many advantages over planar designs including the ability to use simple braze sealing and elimination of the need for individual interconnects. The porous metal tube provides high rigid high strength support on fuel side and acts as current collector. Electrodes and electrolyte layers area co-fired onto metallic support. The layers are on inside of tube - in compression for a stronger configuration. Conventional materials can be used with proprietary support.

Inorganic Lithium Ion Batteries:

The ORNL membrane technology offers a new innovated design for lithium ion batteries. This design may reduce cost and increase battery lifetimes.
