Working With Us

The main partnering mechanisms are User Agreements and Sponsored Research. Either mechanisms are routinely used to provide protection for proprietary information and data.

User Agreements are aimed at customers who want to comet to CNMS, HTML, SNS and actively participate in their project. Currently, use of equipment for radiological samples is on a case-by-case basis and dependent on the type of work to be carried out.

Sponsored Research is the most common type of arrangement for radiological work. In this case the sponsor works out scope, schedule, and budget collaboratively with ORNL and ORNL typically performs all of the work. The Work for Others program is generally used for this type of work. Over the past decade ORNL has carried out Sponsored Research in the area of irradiation materials science for hundreds of customers including universities, large and small companies, and national laboratories, both foreign and domestic.
