One of TTGs major areas of contribution to
international transportation research is in the area of computer software programs. The
figure below shows a typical routing scenario in the powerful TRAGIS Routing Model, a
user-friendly transportation routing analysis system developed by TTG.

The Transportation Routing Analysis Geographic Information
System (TRAGIS) is a powerful routing analysis tool that
combines graphical interfaces with an extensive highway, rail, and waterway database.
TRAGIS operates over the Internet and can supply users with a variety of information about
routes.
Similar models developed by TTG include HIGHWAY and INTERLINE.

Designed to operate over the Internet, TRANSCOST is a
transportation costing model. This model can be used to estimate the transportation- and
shipping-related costs for shipping campaigns.

The Hazardous Materials transportation Expert System (HaMTES) software was
developed to provide application of U.S. Regulations pertaining to the transportation of
hazardous and radioactive material.
(Read more about HaMTES on our Regulatory Capabilities
page.)

TTG also plays an active role in the development of Web-based systems that support
transportation and packaging needs. The group supports the Packaging Management Council, the Transportation Management Council. It also
contributes to the Automated transportation
Management System, and has produced the "Drum Catalog."
