TTG has significant experience in the development of transportation plans for
numerous hazardous materials shipments. TTG staff has been involved for many years in the
development of transportation plans for a number of hazardous materials shipments. We have
worked for the Department of Energy Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management of the
plans for shipments to Yucca Mountain.

Most recently, TTG has developed the Transportation Plan for fresh MOX fuel from
Los Alamos National Laboratory to Chalk River, Canada.

Shipment Preparation
Shipment preparation involves the planning of the shipment or shipping campaign;
ensuring that the shipment has the proper packaging, labeling, placarding, and shipping
papers; the route for the shipment is appropriate; and the shipment is properly secured on
the vehicle. ORNL can provide assistance in all of these areas.
