Mr. Johnson is the project manager for the Rail
Infrastructure Assurance Project at ORNL. This project is funded through the Naval Surface
Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.

Mr. Johnson is matrixed to the TTG at ORNL from the Geographic Information Science and Technology Group of the Computational Sciences and Engineering Division. He has worked on research projects involving
radioactive and other hazardous material transportation routing issues for nearly 25 years. Mr. Johnson has been
responsible for maintenance of the HIGHWAY (roadway) and INTERLINE (rail and waterway)
routing models and databases and has managed the developed Transportation Routing Analysis
Geographic Information System (TRAGIS). TRAGIS has replaced
the legacy HIGHWAY and INTERLINE
models. These models are the accepted U.S. Department of Energy routing analysis tools
used for both risk assessments and shipment planning.
