Drop Oscillations

The objective of this project is to use electric fields to improve the separation factor by distillation. Two mechanisms are involved under the influence of electric fields: (1) modification of phase equilibria and (2) pumping and spraying of bubbles through perforated plates that separate consecutive stages. This project is supported by the Electric Power Research Institute.
