Lan Zhang, Ph.D.

Dr. Lan Zhang was a graduate research assistant in the MENT group for three years. She received her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, University of Tennessee, 2001 (M. L. Simpson, Major Professor).

She had previously received a M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering, University of Houston, 1999, and a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University, 1995.

During her time in the MENT group she authored the following two journal papers:

  • Zhang, L., D. Austin, V. I. Merkulov, M. A. Guillorn, A. V. Melechko, D. H. Lowndes, and M. L. Simpson. "Four-probe charge transport measurements on individual vertically aligned carbon nanofibers." Appl. Phys. Letts. 84(20), May 17, 3972-3974.

  • Zhang, L., A. V. Melechko, V. I. Merkulov, M. A. Guillorn, M. L. Simpson, D. H. Lowndes, and M. J. Doktycz. "Controlled transport of latex beads through vertically aligned carbon nanofiber membranes." Appl. Phys. Letts. 81(1), July 1, 2002, 135-137.
