Laura M. Edwards, Ph.D.

Dr. Laura Morris Edwards is currently senior staff for the MENT group, and has research interests in the areas of materials, fabrication, characterization, and emerging materials. She also holds an appointment as adjunct assistant professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Tennessee. She received her Ph.D. and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, where her doctoral research focused on fabrication process development and characterization of polycrystalline diamond film resistors. Post doctorate work included the further study of the electrical properties of diamond film and the characterization of high power density diamond resistors.

Laura's background and interests include technical writing, quilting, martial arts, lighting and sound design, and photography.
