Publications Papers accepted and presented at the SensorKDD-2009 workshop will be considered for publication in multiple archival and peer-reviewed venues. We are exploring various possibilities including computational data science journal, thematic journal, and/or edited book. (1) Post-workshop Proceedings: We are exploring various possibilities. The SensorKDD-2007 papers have been re-arranged and published in a book entitled "Knowledge Discovery from Sensor Data" by CRC Press, while the SensorKDD-2008 papers are being published by Springer as Lecture Notes for Computer Science (LNCS). Arrangements are being made to directly publish the SensorKDD-2009 papers in a similar venue. As always, papers submitted to the SensorKDD-2009 workshop will be peer-reviewed by the program committee members and workshop chairs prior to acceptance. (2) Computational Data Science Journal: We are in the process of obtaining approvals to publish top papers from the workshop in a special issue of a journal in the computational data sciences. The selection criteria for this venue will be based primarily on innovations in knowledge discovery from sensor data and/or data streams as well as the novelty in the adaptation to any relevant application domain. However, the selection criteria for this journal will be independent of the adherence to this year's theme. The papers submitted to this special issue must be expanded or re-written versions of the workshop papers and will go through an expedited peer-review process. Thus, top papers in SensorKDD-2007 were selected for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Intelligent Data Analysis. The peer review process is complete for this special issue, which will be published in spring of this year. (3) Thematic Journal: Papers submitted to the SensorKDD-2009 workshop, which agree with this year's theme on climate, energy and infrastructures, will be considered for a special issue of the Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering (JCCE) published by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The selection criteria are novelty in the area of knowledge discovery from sensor data, adherence to this year's workshop theme, as well as relevance to the mission of this journal. We define sensors broadly to include remote sensors, in-situ sensors and sensor networks, as well as wide-area sensor infrastructures. The special issue will include other contributed and/or invited submissions. The papers selected from the workshop for inclusion in this special issue must be substantially expanded or re-written for the journal and will go through an expedited peer-review process. Please Note: If a paper happens to be selected for special issues in both the thematic journal (JCCE) and the computational data science journal (such as, IDA), the authors will be requested to submit the expanded versions of their papers to only one journal of their choice.
