Isotope News
Febuary 1, 1998
Fluctuating demand for electromagnetically separated stable isotopes has led to the placement of the Oak Ridge Calutrons in a standby condition. This action was implemented on January 30, 1998 and will be reevaluated periodically. Although this decision effectively means no new production of stable isotopes at Oak Ridge, the isotope program maintains a substantial inventory of previously produced material. Our inventory of over 225 isotopes is available for sale and will continue to be available for the foreseeable future. As always, the Isotope Program staff are ready and willing to serve the isotope needs of the medical, research, and industrial communities.
