Dr.
Christopher J. Mann was recently awarded a Wigner Fellowship with the Image Science and Machine Vision Group to continue his research in the development of digital holographic microscopy with applications in biological imaging. He received a B.Sc and M.Sci degree in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Birmingham, England in 2002 and a Ph.D in Applied Physics from the University of South Florida in 2006. As a student, he was the recipient of the Fred L. & Helen M. Tharp Physics Graduate Fellowship, the Frank E. Duckwall Optics Graduate Fellowship, and was a winner of the outstanding dissertation award from USF. His current research interests include developing new methods and applications in biological and ophthalmic imaging.
