Research Experience and Interests
Dr. Yuan joined the Geographic Information Science and Technology group at ORNL in 2012 as a postdoctoral research associate. His current research includes developing and applying image segmentation and pattern recognition methods for interpreting and understanding large volumes of remote sensing images.
While at The Ohio State University, Dr. Yuan worked as a research associate in the Perception and Neurodynamics Lab and the Mapping and GIS Lab. He developed several effective methods to extract information at different levels from multiple types of remote sensing data.
