Research Experience and Interests
Mr. Weber joined the Geographic Information Science and Technology group at ORNL in September of 2010. He is currently working on development of the LandScan USA model. He further contributes to LandScan USA efforts through research and data editing.
At the University of Kansas, Mr. Weber focused on remotely sensed imagery analysis and GIS automation. For his thesis, he developed software to automate the application of land use/land cover data in population mapping. Mr. Weber also has experience in map design and production, through training at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and professional experiences at the National Geographic Society and the University of Kansas.
Mr. Weber specializes in GIS programming, spatial analysis, data management and editing, and production cartography. He is especially interested in developing automated tools for population modeling and other complex spatial analyses.
