Research Experience and Interests
Ms. Sims joined the Geographic Information Science and Technology Group, full-time in August 2009, after a semester of interning during the Spring of 2009. Her current responsibilities include the validation and verification of LandScan USA data, as well as imagery analysis and data collection to support several other projects.
Previous research projects include working as an intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the study of Las Vegas population variations due to special events, and while at the University of Tennessee, restaurant location determination for Knoxville, Tennessee based upon price and cuisine.
Ms. Sims is interested in geographic information science for the use of spatial analysis/modeling.
