Research Experience and Interests

Wei Lu joined the Geographic Information Science and Technology group at ORNL in June 2012 as a research intern in ASTRO program. After finishing the summer intern, he continued working in the GIST group for the evacuation project and his PhD dissertation work. His current research covers intelligent evacuation planning based on high-resolution, compatible, and parallel traffic simulation. When he studied at University of Tennessee and China, Wei Lu worked as a research/teaching assistant in two intelligent transportation labs. He focused on utilizing connected vehicle technology and traffic flow modeling to provide high efficient applications in intelligent transportation systems.
