The Oak Ridge Centers for Manufacturing Technology (ORCMT) uses several contractual mechanisms to work with industry, educational institutions, state and local governments, and other federal agencies, and performs the necessary scientific research and applied development needed to meet the nation's technology requirements.
Accessing the technical expertise and facilities at ORCMT can be achieved through one of the programs or mechanisms described below. The ORCMT Manufacturing Skills Campus - offers classroom and hands-on training and remote learning through videotapes and satellite broadcasts in numerous manufacturing and metrology areas. Interactions are designed to support the training of America's current and next generation of scientific and technical personnel
The Technical Assistance Program is designed to provide short-term assistance to manufacturers, but is also an outreach tool for the other ORCMT partnering mechanisms described above.
Transfer of personnel either to the ORCMT from the partner or to the partner from the ORCMT to exchange expertise and information may be obtained through the MTIS.
