Doped Carbon Nanoflakes: A New Concept for Fast, Sensitive, Room Temperature Field Emitter Array Infrared Imager

  • Low-cost, uncooled IR detector camera with a detectivity and resolution approaching that of current high-end systems
  • Doped carbon nanostructures (flakes or tubes) are low work function field emitters
    • Dopant coating provides more electropositive material, and
    • Structure reduced surface barrier as a function of electric field.
