Ethan Coffey spent four years as a thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow instructor at the Navy Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, South Carolina. After fulfilling his commitment to the navy, he started work as a research and development staff member of the Dynamic Systems Group in the Measurement Science and Systems Engineering Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He has a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master’s from Georgia Tech, also in mechanical engineering. He is experienced with ANSYS, Mathcad, MATLAB, and knowledgeable about other engineering tools. He has done work in stress analysis, dynamics of mechanical systems, and vibrations.
