BTRIC Group Mission Statements
Building Envelopes Research
The Building Envelope Group mission is to perform research that supports the Department of Energy (DOE) Building Technologies Program’s long range goal of developing maximum energy efficiency in buildings. Reducing envelope energy consumption will significantly facilitate attainment of maximum energy efficiency since a significant amount of space heating and cooling energy is lost through inefficient envelopes.
Building Equipment Research
To develop advanced, energy-efficient equipment for deployment in residential and commercial buildings.
Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Energy Efficiency
The mission of the Residential, Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Group is to reduce the energy use and environmental impact of buildings and industrial processes by making advanced technologies easily accessible through applications R&D and technical assistance, improving project development and financing vehicles, and improving energy management decisions.
Whole-Building and Community Integration
The Whole-Building and Community Integration Group (WBCI) is committed to developing partnerships that accelerate the integration of renewable resources, energy-efficient technologies, and advanced energy management into high performance buildings and communities.
