International Collaborations
Oak Ridge National Laboratory provides a multi-disciplinary approach to country needs and U.S. priorities. ORNL expertise includes:
- capacity building
- data systems
- emergency response
- technology exports, and
- international cooperation in science and technology
Capabilities
- Bilateral technical assistance on energy efficiency and clean, renewable energy initiatives.
- Geographical Information System (GIS) Decision Support System for environmental, clean and renewable energy, and energy efficiency technology implementation in key markets.
- Expertise on global climate change. ORNL has provided research support to international programs including DOE Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, DOE Office of Policy and International Affairs, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. Department of Defense, and others. Altogether, in the last 6 years, ORNL has provided technical assistance and participated in activities in more than 70 countries.
