The Environmental Technology Verification Program (ETV)
was started by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in October
1995 to address the need for credible environmental technology performance
data to help businesses and communities better utilize the
environmental technology choices available to them. ETV verifies commerical-ready,
private sector technologies through six centers. ORNL is one of
the three verification organizations under the Advanced Monitoring Technology (AMT) Center.
The Sampling and Analysis Group of ORNL's
Chemical and Analytical Sciences Division, in partnership with the EPA's
National Exposure Research Laboratory (Las Vegas) is conducting
performance verifications of innovative, commerically available and
near-commerical technologies for field characterization and monitoring.
