Sponsorship of
The Twenty-sixth Symposium on Biotechnology for Fuels and Chemicals
Chattanooga, Tennessee
May 9-12, 2004
The Twenty-sixth Symposium will focus on advances in biotechnology to produce high-volume, low-price products from renewable resources, as well as to improve the environment. Session topics include Feedstock Supply, Logistics, Processing and Composition; Enzyme Catalysis and Engineering; Microbial Catalysis and Engineering; Bioprocessing, Including Separations; Biobased Industrial Chemicals; Biomass Pretreatment and Hydrolysis, Plant Biotechnology and Feedstock Genomics, and an evening session on Finance and Policy. The Twenty-sixth Symposium is sponsored by industrial firms, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U. S. Department of Agriculture, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
Sponsors of the symposium make it possible to maintain a lower registration fee while still insuring a diverse format that encourages interaction among attendees. Industry contributions will be used to support the Charles D. Scott award, special events, travel expenses for certain keynote speakers, banquet and other meeting expenses, as well as publication of the Proceedings. Sponsors are recognized by a prominent listing of their organization titles on the symposium website and in the Program and Abstract Book distributed at the symposium to the approximately 400 attendees. Sponsor names and company logos are prominently displayed on banners and easels throughout the symposium, and sponsors are mentioned in the opening welcome remarks as well as at the Wednesday evening banquet. Sponsors are also listed in the Proceedings, an approximately 1,000-page special edition of Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology. The Proceedings are sent to all full registrants of the meeting and are purchased by major libraries, universities, institutions and individuals. For each $2,000 in sponsorship, a full registration will be provided.
